Why Ceramic Coating

Why Ceramic Coating Is Worth It

A ceramic coating isn't just a shiny finish — it's a real bonded layer of protection that pays for itself by preserving your paint, reducing maintenance, and protecting your vehicle's resale value against the harsh Southwest Florida climate.

UV & Oxidation Shield

Blocks the harsh UV rays that fade and oxidize paint — critical in Southwest Florida's year-round sun and 3,000+ annual sunshine hours.

Hydrophobic Surface

Water beads and rolls off instantly, taking dirt and contaminants with it. Eliminates water-spot etching from rain, irrigation, and washes.

Chemical Resistance

Protects against bird droppings, tree sap, salt air, bug splatter, and road grime — all of which etch directly into uncoated paint within hours.

Deep, Permanent Gloss

Creates a candy-like depth and clarity wax can't match. Your paint reflects light better, colors look richer, and the gloss doesn't wash off.

Easier To Wash

Dirt can't bond to a coated surface, so a quick rinse and hand wash is all it takes. Cuts your wash time in half — no waxing required, ever.

Preserves Resale Value

Pristine paint significantly increases resale and trade-in value. Coated vehicles stand out to buyers and sell faster, especially luxury and dark-colored cars.

Our Process

How We Apply Your Ceramic Coating

A coating is only as good as the prep underneath. Every Luxima ceramic install follows the same methodical, no-shortcut process — verified under LED inspection lights.

1

Wash & Decon

Foam hand wash, iron decontamination, and clay bar treatment to remove every bonded contaminant before any prep work begins.

2

Paint Inspection

Paint depth gauging and LED inspection to identify swirls, scratches, and oxidation that need to be corrected before coating.

3

Paint Correction

1-Step or 2-Step machine polishing to remove defects. A coating locks in the surface — so we make sure that surface is flawless first.

4

Surface Prep

IPA / panel-wipe across every panel to strip residual oils and silicones — ensuring the ceramic bonds directly to the clear coat.

5

Coating Application

Ceramic applied panel by panel, by hand, with proper flash and level times. Multi-layer or boosted depending on package.

6

Cure & Inspection

Controlled cure time, then full inspection under LED lighting. Care instructions and written warranty handed over to you.

Common Questions

Ceramic Coating FAQ — Southwest Florida

Everything you need to know before investing in a professional ceramic coating in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Bonita Springs, and surrounding Southwest Florida areas.

How much does ceramic coating cost in Southwest Florida?

Professional ceramic coating in Southwest Florida typically ranges from $400 to $1,100+, depending on the level of protection and the size of your vehicle. At Luxima Detailing, our Essential Ceramic starts at $400, our Signature Ceramic starts at $700, and our Elite 9H Ceramic starts at $1,100. Final pricing depends on vehicle size, paint condition, and the package selected.

What's the difference between a 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year ceramic coating?

1-Year (Essential): Single-layer coating. Hydrophobic, UV-resistant, easier washing. Great first-time ceramic experience.

3-Year (Signature): Two layers + 1-step paint correction prep. Stronger gloss, deeper protection, includes wheel coating. The sweet spot for most owners.

5-Year+ (Elite 9H): Professional-grade 9H coating with a boost layer, full 2-step correction, glass coating, and complete wheel coating. Reserved for new vehicles, exotics, and show cars.

Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?

Yes — and this is critical. A ceramic coating locks in the surface of your paint for years. If swirls, scratches, or oxidation are present when the coating is applied, those defects will be sealed in too. Our Signature package includes a 1-Step prep correction, and our Elite 9H includes a 2-Step correction. Heavier defects can be paired with our 3-Step Paint Correction add-on.

How long does ceramic coating take to apply?

Essential Ceramic: 4 to 6 hours. Signature Ceramic: usually a full day. Elite Ceramic 9H: 1.5 to 2 full days. The vehicle then needs a controlled cure period of 12 to 24 hours before exposure to water — we'll explain everything during handover.

Will ceramic coating prevent rock chips and scratches?

No — and any detailer who tells you otherwise isn't being honest. Ceramic coating is a chemical-resistant, UV-resistant, hydrophobic layer — it makes your paint easier to clean, helps prevent etching from bird droppings and water spots, and dramatically improves gloss. But it is not a physical barrier against rock chips. For that level of impact protection, you'd want PPF (paint protection film).

How long does a ceramic coating actually last?

Real-world durability depends on the package, how the vehicle is washed, where it's parked, and the climate. In Southwest Florida — strong sun, salt, humidity, frequent rain — expect:

Essential: 1–2 years. Signature: 3–4 years. Elite 9H: 5–7 years. Proper maintenance washing (no automatic car washes, no harsh chemicals) is what makes a coating reach its full lifespan.

How do I wash my car after ceramic coating?

We recommend a safe two-bucket hand wash every 1–2 weeks with a pH-neutral shampoo, plus a clean microfiber drying towel. Avoid: automatic tunnel washes, harsh degreasers, and abrasive sponges — they all shorten coating life. We provide full care instructions with every install.

Can you apply ceramic coating at my home or garage?

Yes — Luxima Detailing is fully mobile across Southwest Florida (Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero). For ceramic coating specifically, we need a shaded, covered, dust-free area (your garage works perfectly), water access, and a standard outlet. The vehicle must stay protected during the cure period.

What's the warranty on Luxima ceramic coatings?

Every coating comes with a written warranty: 1 year on Essential, 3 years on Signature, and 5 years on Elite 9H. The warranty covers the coating's hydrophobic and protective performance — provided the vehicle is maintained according to the care guide we hand over after install.
